The high visibility of our waters makes for a great opportunity to spot marine life.

Fly high and feel the roar of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels

Pensacola is lucky to be the home base for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the official flight demonstration team of the Navy. While they tour all over the country, we’re fortunate that they practice most Tuesdays and Wednesdays, March – November and host two shows a year, one on Pensacola Beach and one at NAS Pensacola.

Good to Know

Snorkeling in Northwest Florida Beaches offers a unique experience, thanks to clear waters, abundant marine life, and scenic coastal environments inclusive of the Gulf and Bay locations. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced snorkeler, the region has something to offer.

Here's what you should know:

Best Time to Snorkel:

  • Spring and Summer: The warm waters from May to September are ideal for snorkeling in Northwest Florida. Water temperatures range from 70°F (21°C) in spring to 80°F (27°C) in summer, and the visibility is usually the best during these months.
  • Fall: While fall months can be cooler, the water is still warm enough to enjoy snorkeling. Plus some of the more popular locations are less crowded.
  • Winter: Water temperatures do drop in the winter, and visibility may decrease, but if you're prepared for cooler conditions, you can still enjoy snorkeling, especially if you plan on wearing a wetsuit.
